As is obvious from the numbers above, Inter Milan have the edge on almost everything. However it is interesting to note that while they have yet to lose a game at home (their only defeat this season was away to Sampdoria) they have dropped four points (two draws) there. Those draws I believe came against Bari on the opening day and more recently against Claudio Ranieri's Roma. Equally interesting is the fact that their goals scored and more significantly their goals conceded stats at home isn't as good as their travels. They have conceded 8 of their 11 goals at the Meazza. So maybe, just maybe, a draw might be a good possibility today, and like I said in my preview, I will take that before the game starts.

One good stat for us is our goals conceded record, which is almost at par with Inter. This is pretty weird considering that our defence is not really the strongest around. But then we have kept a clean sheet on a number of occasions this season (all those 1-0 wins) and ofcourse our Super Man Sebastian Frey is largely responsible for that.

Another figure to ponder upon is scoring minute. Inter so far have found the back mostly between the 30th and 50th minute, with a total of twelve goals. We on the other hand ofcourse have scored mostly in the second half, with five goals between minutes 60 and 70. Infact we have scored two thirds of our goals in the second half, after the 50th minute. Inter too have a greater percentage of goals in the second half as compared to the first.

Diego Milito is their highest scorer with 8 goals, while Samuel Eto'o comes second with 6 and Mario Balotelli with 4. For us Alberto Gilardino leads the charts with 6 goals while Stevan Jovetic and Marco Marchionni each have bagged 3.

Our last win at the San Siro as mentioned in the preview was in May 2000. It was a big win though on the second last round of that season with Enrico Chiesa grabbing a brace, and Gabriel Batistuta and Mauro Bressan each netting once. Inter failed to score even once. Since then there have been seven matches between us at the San Siro and Inter have won all of them.

So some interesting stats there, and although numbers and figures don't really win you games, they can often indicate a trend that can help you approach the match and the opposition. I will end this post by thanking Global Sports Media for the above stats and figures.
