 Werder Bremen faces Shakhtar Donestsk in the UEFA Cup Final at tha Sukru Saracoglue Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Shakhtar advanced to the final after defeating Dynamo Kyiv 3-2 on aggregate. The Ukrainian club is looking to win the UEFA Cup for the first time and will finish 2nd in the domestic Premier League. It is the first European final for the club. Luis Fernandinho leads Shaktar in scoring during the UEFA Cup with 4 goals.
Werder Bremen is aiming for their second UEFA Cup Trophy and advanced to the final after defeating fellow Bundesliga side Hamburg. The German club won the 1991/92 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Ribas da Cunha Diego (6 goals) and Claudio Pizarro (5 goals) have led Bremen in scoring during the UEFA Cup.
The two clubs have never played against each other in the UEFA Cup.
